Serradei farm is located in Salento, on the border between Brindisi and Lecce, a short distance from the Adriatic Sea. It is a wonderful area, rich in history and traditions, which since Roman times has been dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees for the production of olive oil.
Salento welcomed us with its warmth in 2012 and my husband Bruno and I chose it to cultivate our dream. Here we have put down new roots, those of a project that now continues with me and in his memory, as we had planned together. Our plants, as beautiful as sculptures, are shaped by the sun, the sea and the wind. And by the love and respect with which we cultivate them in a sustainable way.
Every year, they reward our hard work and care by giving us an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality. We have always chosen quality over quantity, which is why we personally supervise all stages of production. We harvest the olives by hand directly from the tree or by machine when they have reached the right degree of ripeness. They are then carefully selected and taken to the mill on the same day as they are harvested for immediate cold pressing. Only in this way is it possible to obtain a genuine "olive juice", rich in nutrients, purity and aroma, bringing to the table the unique flavour of Salento. All this hard work, passion and dedication is rewarded by the appreciation and trust of our customers and by the numerous national and international awards we have received.
In fact, in the farmhouse, built in the old style typical of the area, every element has been designed to create harmony and to envelop the guests of the two apartments in relaxation. We immediately decided that this was the ideal place to spend an unforgettable holiday in peace and quiet, far from the confusion of crowded beaches. That's why we have a swimming pool with a large solarium area: the perfect place to recharge your batteries while enjoying the warmth of the sun, the fresh air, the peaceful sounds of nature and the pleasant scents of the lush vegetation.
The position of the farmhouse is convenient and strategic: it is just over a kilometre from the waves of Marina di Lendinuso (1) and a short distance from the most beautiful and famous beaches of Salento. In 5 minutes you can reach the art and history of baroque Lecce (2) and 17 km away is Brindisi (3) with its airport. The farm is surrounded by beauty, culture, food and wine, art and history. Here at Tenuta Serradei you can immerse yourself in the Salento countryside with pleasant walks or explore the more than 50 km of paved cycle paths with the bicycles at your disposal.
From October to November you can participate in the olive harvest and in the various stages of the production of our exceptional extra virgin olive oil. It's hard not to fall in love with it the first time you taste it, which is why you can buy it on the spot at very reasonable prices or online on our website.
Serradei farm is pet friendly and will be delighted to welcome your pets. You will also be able to meet our animals, who live happily and are well looked after: the horses, Gina the donkey, the dogs, the cats and the chickens.
