Villa Buontempo Educational Farm

When you visit Francavilla Fontana, don't miss a visit to the educational farm of Villa Buontempo, an enchanting place immersed in nature that offers schools and tourists a wide range of educational, naturalistic, historical-cultural and food and wine itineraries suitable for all ages.
The ancient Masseria, made up of several buildings, owes its name to the small country church of the Madonna di Buontempo, built in 1776 to protect the crops from adverse weather conditions, a favourite place for the peasants to celebrate and perform propitiatory rites linked to the seasonal agricultural activities.
The noble villa, owned for generations by the prestigious Carissimo family, still preserves its neoclassical architectural splendour, embellished with baroque decorative details.

The building opens onto a large park with numerous paths among statues and ornamental plants, from the enchanting garden of the Madame to the airy pinewood, where you can stroll among the scents of nature and immerse yourself in a relaxing atmosphere between the past and the present.
The Masseria then extends into the surrounding countryside, among ancient olive trees, vineyards and orchards, ideal places for the sensory itineraries offered to visitors. Among the experiences to be tried out are the "Hands-on Workshops", where specialised operators guide you in discovering daily life on the farm, through the narration of activities, the production of agricultural and food products, direct contact with animals, plants and the landscape, to stimulate an active approach to the natural environment, educating respect and conservation.
