Li Paduli Natural Reserve

The countryside around San Donaci is home to a unique naturalistic ecosystem, the Li Paduli Natural Park, an oasis of biodiversity born from the reclamation of the swampy land that oppressed the area until the beginning of the last century.
The great work of drainage, begun in 1922, allowed the land to breathe and gave life to this splendid park, home to many species of flora and fauna and an important stopover for certain bird species, a paradise that extends over hundreds of hectares. 
Depending on the time of year you visit, you can observe the seasonal cycles of nature, the arrival and departure of many species of geese, ducks and herons among the marshes and dense reeds, the changes in fauna and flora with the alternation of dry and rainy periods, an ever-changing and exciting spectacle that brings you back to the origins of Mother Earth.
