Museum of Arts and Traditions

The Latiano's Museum of Art and Traditions is located in the former Dominican convent near the historic centre. Founded in 1974 on the initiative of the Local Tourist Association and curated by the anthropologist Giovanni Battista Bronzini, the museum now houses an important cultural heritage. The collection is made up of objects recovered from time to time by enthusiasts who have unearthed testimonies of life in Latiano's history, placing everyday objects - tools, machinery and clothing - in settings that faithfully reproduce the rural dwellings of the ancient Apulian population. You will also find a selection of jewellery, furniture and ceramics: in short, a focus on production that will take you into the lively and surprising context of Latiano's craftsmanship. You will observe, analyse and emotionally participate in the poetic nature of this beautiful ethnological collection, for a truly educational cultural experience.
