Frantoio De Gasperi

The De Gasperi oil mill was founded in 1961, when the idea of a cooperative was spreading as a means of giving strength and a voice to the many farmers who had made working the land their life's work. It developed its roots in the Messapian town of Mesagne to promote the production of extra virgin olive oil.
Over time, the mill has always worked to maintain the high quality standards of its extra virgin olive oil, introducing new techniques and implementing the transformation process with technologies that are always in step with the times.
Today, the process of guaranteeing the quality of our oil begins with the harvest in the olive groves of our members, which is organised in such a way that the olives are harvested when they have reached the right degree of ripeness to give the oil the right aromas and flavours. The olives are pressed as soon as they have passed the quality control to ensure that only the best olives are used in the production of our extra virgin olive oil. The entire pressing process is carried out at controlled temperatures, and the oil is then filtered and packaged to preserve its quality and health properties for as long as possible.
During the mill's opening hours, it is always possible to taste our oils and take a guided tour to see the entire production process. During the harvest months it is also possible to take part in the harvesting of the olives, immersing oneself in a real practical experience, from the harvest to the tasting of the extra virgin olive oil.
