In the countryside of Mesagne, in the area where once stood the legendary Limitone (or Paretone of the Greeks, the long wall of strategic importance built at the end of the 7th century on the border between the Byzantine territories to the south, today's Salento, and the Longobard to the north) and the famous Roman baths of Malvindi, stands the Masseria of the same name, a splendid setting that combines an ancient atmosphere with all the comforts of modern hospitality.
Immersed in the olive groves of the countryside, the Masseria Malvindi, named after the historical owners whose coat of arms stands out at the entrance, will take you back in time to the warm and relaxing atmosphere typical of the Mediterranean countryside. You will be able to visit the nearby Roman archaeological site, which in 1986 unearthed a thermal bath complex with three rooms and splendid floor mosaics (now on display at the Ugo Granafei Archaeological Museum inside the Castle in Mesagne). It is an important legagy of the Roman occupation of these lands from the 1st to the 4th century AD.
The stream that irrigated the thermal baths still flows a short distance from the Masseria, where an ancient Roman bridge connects it to the main road.
